Warning: lots of cat pics… I mean, this IS Greece
Our return trip to Greece but this time straight to Santorini. It was a fantastic trip with a deeper purpose.
Back on that trip in 2018 we were supposed to visit Santorini for the day on our cruise. Well, due to bad weather, we were denied. A man named Bill was in our group. I knew Bill prior, he was my political science teacher back in 2005?06? He was also a very close friend of Jen’s. He had written about Santorini and always dreamed of going. Sadly, he passed away before ever making that trip. So we brought him. He went everywhere with us and is now definitely part of the island and will forever stay.
This was one of those trips with the whole plan was to spread Bill’s ashes and nothing else. It was one of the most relaxing trips and felt like forever. We got to meet up with Jacob and Sue in Athens (we all met on the previous trip and will forever be friends), we went on a catamaran tour where we drank copious amounts of wine, ate great food and hung with some really nice people. We walked from Thira to Oia… 8.41 lovely miles 😉 and I got a tattoo. Oh, and I got to fly on Delta One, that really spoiled me. This was a special trip and I consider myself very lucky. If you ever plan on going to Santorini, go during shoulder season – so much cheaper and no crowds, it made for an awesome trip!
